Introduction This is the second part of the first coursework for this module, dedicated to implementing automata as language recognizers. It is an individual piece of work and is worth 15% of the final mark for the module. 2. Problem description Let L be a language of all strings over {0, 1} that contain two pairs of adjacent 0’s separated by an even number of symbols. Assuming that your group has defined the NDA which recognizes this language and converted it into DFA you need to write a Java program which implements one of the four versions of the automaton: • NDA useing backtracking to the previous state • NDA using parallel transitions • The equivalent DFA which encodes the transition relation in a class method • The equivalent DFA which encodes the transition relation using data structure 3. Tasks Specification (a) Draw a class diagram for your version of the automaton (b) Draw a sequence diagram for it (c) Write a Java program which corresponds to your design (d) By using the same words you used in the group assignment test your program. (Choose 2-3 words from L and 2-3 words not in L and give their configuration sequences.) 4. Requirements • Each student must work individually on only one version of automaton • The individual report must contain the two UML design diagrams , description of the program, specification of the test data, screenshots from the run of the program, description of the output produced and the source code of the program. 5. Submission • The submission of the coursework material must be done online through uploading the reports to WebLearn by the deadline. • Each student must submit two files – the individual report and the program source. If the program consists of more than one files, they must be submitted as an archive in .zip format.
