Conference creative concept

Design brief for Beyond Tomorrow creative concept Overview of organisation ECMS is a not-for-profit organisation providing early childhood education and care to approximately 6,000 families across Melbourne. Each year we present an industry-leading early childhood education and care conference, Beyond Tomorrow, which is attended by approximately 800 early childhood professionals (kindergarten and childcare educators and local government representatives). At Beyond Tomorrow, attendees have the opportunity to learn from expert speakers from across Australia, connect with other attendees and visit a range of businesses at the conference trade fair. Project requirements We require a creative concept (illustration) to be used on our conference marketing collateral. Ideally we would initially be presented with 2-3 concepts. Theme The creative concept will need to convey the conference theme - ‘Inspiring journeys’. There has been a lot of change in the early childhood industry over the past couple of years, with the introduction of a new set of government regulations affecting all early childhood educators. The conference will explore a range of educators’ journeys to implementing these changes successfully. The theme will also comprise general inspiring stories of excellence, innovation, success, leadership etc in the early childhood industry. The theme will also relate to the child’s journey of learning and development. A conference promotional video will be shot and used on the conference website and social media. The video will contain footage of educators and young children speaking about who has inspired them and why. Target audience The target audience is all Australian early childhood educators who are interested in attending a leading professional development event. Design use The design will be used on a range of collateral, including: - The conference website - Posters - Presentations - Flyers - Booklets - Email banners (Approx 600px by 120px) - Bags - Pull-up banners (Over 2 metres high). Mandatory elements • The concept must work well on a broad range of collateral of varying sizes. • The concept must fit well with the conference logo (attached) • The concept must be able to sit alongside photos of children, without appearing too busy. • The concept must use the ECMS colour palette (attached) • The concept must work on a range of background colours (these would be taken from the ECMS palette). Considerations • Please consider whether one illustration will work across the range of collateral indicated above. • Consider whether the conference theme wording ‘Inspiring Journeys’ can be incorporated into the concept. Perhaps there could be more than one version. • Consider whether the key words relating to the conference can be incorporated into the concept. There would be two variations of this: - Quality, excellence, innovation, leadership. - Engaging, inspiring, educational, professional. Tone • The design should have a sense of fun about it, whilst still maintaining the conference’s professional tone and appealing to the adult audience.
