An Illustrator to draw cartoon type pictures for a childrens book.

I have a story line, that consists of 17 pages. This is not going to be (I don't believe) marketed in any way. This is actually a gift for Valentines day, so I need it quickly since I have to get printing and everything done as well. I am doing a professional print, actual book, nicely done as though you had pulled it from a shelf in a book store, probably a dust jacket as well. So I would need 17 drawings for the book pages themselves, then one more at least for the dust jacket. That would need to be possibly the nicest. In each scene, page, there would generally be only a boy or a girl, young, think 6-9 years old, cartoonish, somewhere between stick figure and Cailou (the cartoon on tv, don't know how to spell it.). The pages would alternate, boy in a slight scene on one page, girl on the next (they are searching for each other). Then the last few pages are them together in some sort of scene. The background scenery is not terribly important, slight bits to show where they are, what they are doing, but nothing major (for instance in one scene I see the boy peering under a rock, lifting it with his fingers, so only he, the rock, and some semblance of grass and possibly the base of a tree that fades out above the scene is needed.) I hope this makes sense. I do NOT want anime, think along the lines of the Caillou character I mentioned earlier, but don't copy that obviously. Boy and girl should both have brown hair. Not sure how much coloring would be needed, I'll leave that up to the artist I choose, and discuss along with the story line and my ideas for the scene on each page. Money.... I don't have much, but could pay a little. I WILL however send you a nicely printed copy (at my expense) of the final product to be used as a reference, etc in much the same way as you would use your portfolio. It will look every bit a store bought book, as that is my intent to go overboard on this gift. Really hope that makes sense. :-) Oh and I need this quickly, we are coming up full steam on valentines day obviously, so.... sooner the better. The art is really not complex, I just can NOT do it, I'm terrible, if you are in any way a cartoonist, this should be a breeze. Thanks for reading!! Denny
