Web Designer/Developer Media Matters Inc. is a niche and growing publishing company with an earned reputation of being the corner stone of the Canadian collision repair industry. Our print and digital B2B publications are national and reach they key players in collision repair facilities, as well as associated manufacturers, suppliers, and insurers;. We are looking for an in-house contract Web Designer/Developer who will act as web-master, collaborating with various internal personnel to gather requirements, design, develop, update, and maintain all aspects of our B2B lead-generation websites, including [login to view URL] [login to view URL], www. The Web Designer/Developer is expected to stay on top of the latest web trends and determine how/if those trends should be applied for the company’s web properties. The Web Designer/Developer troubleshoots and maintains sites to ensure they meet evolving web standards and user requirements. Key Activities: • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure our sites are fresh, up-to-date, SEO-friendly, mobile-responsive, user-friendly, aligned with brand strategy, and effective at generating leads. Develop graphic content to support websites. • Plan and produce sitemaps, wireframes, design comps, and user flows and take those plans into effective websites and web applications. • Work within CMS and marketing automation tools to integrate systems data and create intelligent, automated workflows. • Propose, design, and implement a consistent look and feel across websites. • Monitor web site health and resolve issues as they are identified. • Assist in posting web content in a timely manner in coordination with the Editor and content strategists. • Maintain working knowledge of hardware, software, and other programs associated with the development and delivery of interactive technologies. • Support other web or digital related projects as they arise. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, Computer Science or other related field or the equivalent in related work experience • 3+ years of experience with scripting languages (HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery) required. • 3+ years of progressive web development experience utilizing a Content Management System such as Joomla, or WordPress. • 3+ years of experience with design tools including Adobe Creative Suite required. • Ability to write JavaScript to consume API data and add interactive functionality to web sites. • Experience integrating data systems and marketing automation platforms. • Experience leading others in the design, development and deployment of small-to-mid size web projects. • Experience identifying and resolving cross-browser and cross-platform issues. •Knowledge of responsive design and JavaScript frameworks preferred.
