I have recently finished a project apart from several where I was involved in only writing business logic. I can give customer contact if you want to ask about my performance. I will make sure the following: 1: Business logic is a dedicated class library that handles business by its logic and not by it's entities. 2: Not sure if you mentioned about DAL, but if it's not ready I can write a nice new layer and use Entity Framework or NHibernate. 3: Business logic will care about 'managers' doing one broad function, for example FinanceManager, ImageManager etc. Business logic consumer i.e. user controls or pages will not need to think about entities and how information is stored. 4: Business will be easy enough to consume and rest of the fields it must need to have in database for proper storage will be taken care of at the business level. 5: All business managers will be inherited from a parent business and finally from IDisposable to make sure we can centrally apply something via parent and then disposal is proper. 6: We will have one class in one business manager. 7: Business classes will not non-static and will always required to be instantiate at the consumer level, considering your web architecture. 8: Business will not cache anything, it will be handled through server side.
