The following work is to be carried out on a WordPress site. WP-001 – Custom profile and registration A custom registration page is required with extended fields. A user can register as either Mentor, Mentee or Community user type. A user can be a Mentor and a Mentee at the same time, but no other combination. When they select one of these choices they will be presented with a choice of options that will be different depending upon the user type selected. Some of these fields will be required for searching profiles in WP-002. For example Primary and/or Secondary teacher. A user can enter keywords that describe themselves. These will be in an auto complete box that will pre-populate from an administrator managed list. The user can add a new entry if it doesn’t exist in the list. WordPress administrators should be able to add custom fields in the same way they can using BuddyPress. (BuddyPress can be used or a good alternative as long as it enables different profile fields for the user type) The profile fields become especially important in WP-002 Custom profile search. The profile will be presented in a tabbed layout. WP-002 – Custom profile search A separate page will be available for Mentees to find Mentors. This will filter the results to search on the user type in WP-001. This is a separate results page from the standard user search results The search will be a randomised list of three Mentors that match certain profile fields. A Primary Mentee should only see Primary Mentors. A Secondary Mentee should only see Secondary Mentors. There may be a few other fields included in the search criteria (to be defined). The Mentee can choose a new set of three random Mentors that match the search criteria, or ‘See all” which will show all Mentors that match their criteria. The Mentee can also select keywords that will be matched to the Mentors profile keywords. This keyword list will be populated by the same mechanism described in WP-001. Each profile result will have the Mentors picture presented, a brief bio, keywords and some other profile information, and a button saying “Ask to mentor me” which will bring up a private message that can be sent to the Mentor.
