As compared to Excel, R provides excellent packages for data visualization. Moreover, these plots can be saved in any image format that you desire and exported to Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. If you are also looking at drawing inferences from your data, R can help immensely in that. What is the size of your dataset? It is also possible to write scripts in R which can automate the task of evaluating any such Excel sheets that you might have....akin to batch processing.
So my proposal is to analyze your existing Excel data in R, produce the requisite graphs and provide insights from the data. Results can be given back in Excel or any other format that you desire.
Also, to be honest, this is the first time that I am ever bidding for a job and would really appreciate if you give me a chance. You won't be disappointed.
