Algebra: Converting problems into algebraic expressions

Dear freelancer, This purpose of this work is to teach children how to convert algebraic problems from words into expressions. In this project we will be creating 1250 problems each of them will need to be translated into symbols. The 1250 problems will be split up into different sections. I have given the number of problems I need in each category and also sample problems in the first 2 categories.: 1. General problems (500 problems). These will be standard statements that need to be put into expressions. Example: - A number increased by 5 Ans: n + 5 - Twice a number is equal to 24 Ans: 2n = 24 - Four times a number reduced by 12 is equal to zero Ans: 4x - 12 = 0 - Three times a number is 5 more than twice the number Ans: 3y = 2y + 5 - The quotient of sixteen times a number divided by 18 is equal to 288 plus half the number Ans: 16n/18 = 288 + n/2 - square of a number is 30 more than its square root Ans: ...... 2. Age Problems (100 problems): - If Julie is x years old, how old was she 10 years ago? Ans: x - 10 - If Mary is x years old and John is 5 years older than Mary, then what is John's age? Ans: x + 5 - If Mark is m years old and Nick is n years old, what is their combined age? Ans: (m + n) years - If Mark is m years old and Nick is n years old, what is their combined age after 10 years? Ans: (m + n) years - Angela is x years old, and after n years she will be twice her age. Write an equation between x and n Ans: x + n = 2x The other sections will be: Percentages (75 problems) (Not compound interest) Ratio and Proportion problems (75 problems) Averages (100 problems) Area and Perimeter (75 problems) Speed, Time and Distance (75 problems) Money and shopping problems (100 problems) Time and Work (100 problems) Pipes filling (50 problems) The questions in each section will need to be of varying levels of difficulty. Start with very simple problems on just writing the expression, then increasing the level gradually to finally putting challenging framing questions towards the end. The format will be microsoft word or microsoft powerpoint Please note: 1. This is not an easy copy and paste from other books on algebra. This is a project on modelling questions. The questions need to be thought through because this not about writing problems for the student to solve. This is about writing problems that student need to frame into algebraic expressions. 2. There should be no monotony in the problems. I don't want exactly the same question type with just the numbers or the variable changed. There has to be a variety of questions created by changing what is being asked, changing the names and also changing values. As an example, what is 5 more than y cannot be rewritten as what is 3 more than y, what is 7 more than y and so on and also should not be rewritten as what is 5 more than x, what is 5 more than m etc. 3. I need answers with every question. What is important from the freelancer: 1. Please send me a few samples of these kind of questions along with your bid 2. Whatever deadline you commit for submission, you have to meet that. Any delays/ changes are non-negotiatble. We will have follow up work by other teams on this and it is very crucial that you deliver on time that you commit. 3. You need to submit output at regular intervals. 4. All questions that are not up to the mark, or seem repetitive, monotonous, will be rejected and need to be done again. Please make sure you understand everything and ask for any clarifications if needed. You will need to think through problems so think about the time you will be willing to spend on this.
