Contact data collection from internet

The Project The provider will be working for UNILIBRI Ltd, a company incorporated and operational in the UK. The provider should use the internet to search UK university websites to find the contact information for the job titles outlined below, and then put this information into the skeleton excel sheet attached. The Contacts The key contact job titles to be identified are: (1) Head of the Library (or nearest equivalent) (2) Head of Academic Services (or nearest equivalent) (3) Academic Registrar (exact match) (4) IT director / Head of Library IT (or close match) (5) Student Union President (or close match) (6) VP Education Officer (or close match) Exact match = the contact supplied must have the exact title specified Close match = the contact supplied must have the exact title, or a title using similar words or the same words in a different order Nearest equivalent = the contact supplied must have the exact title, or a title using similar words, or the same words in a different order, or as a last resort, an appropriate substitute. Failing all the above, a nearest suitable contact should be found for every position. We would recommend searching on university student unions’ websites for contacts (5) & (6) above. All universities will have their current sabbatical officers/executive committee on display somewhere. These should be easy. For contacts (1-4) above, we would recommend the provider searches for the university staff directory, or directly searches in Google. Again, Universities are required to be very open, and the vast majority will display all this information – but some more clearly and easy to find than others. The Data The required information to be gathered for each of the contacts is as follows: (1) Exact Job Title (if different to template) (2) First Name (3) Surname (4) University Email (5) Landline phone number. The attached ‘contact data sheet example’ excel document shows how the finished product should look. All contact information in this sheet is fake and is only there as a guide. The attached ‘contact data sheet’ excel document follows the example sheet and is in the format we wish to receive the work in. We have provided this to facilitate the process and ensure you understand the requirements. Please only complete the fields in the excel sheet and please complete it in the style of the example sheet, including the alternating colour - black to purple - between each university. There are ~120 universities in the data sheet that the contacts and information must be found for. Data gathered must be for the 2010/2011 academic year. We are not expecting a 100% success rate, but as near as possible. Finally All the information supplied must be correct. We will randomly sample a number of the contacts to check the information is correct. We will also do this by selecting a number of e-mail addresses to mail and numbers to ring to ensure information has not been made up. We are not expecting 100% of the data to match our exact requirements above, but the provider should make it clear when they have been unable to find the data. If the provider complete the project well, there is the potential to gather data for a huge number of other universities in the future – thousands.
