Not too hard. I used to work for a company that set up cisco pbx machines for small-medium size companies. I didn't just set up the Cisco... I interpreted the customer request form to form Cisco commands and wrote a java interface with the Cisco to execute them and respond with appropriate help or error messages. We did many different type of Cisco devices though I'm not sure I did yours specifically. Anyway, loading an ios is a 1 line command. VDSL is fundamentally complicated but CISCO kind of isolates all the details so you really just declare some variables. IP and LAN - that's the same as any computer but the command syntax is just a little different. And remote access is like 2 lines per user. I don't think programming Cisco is harder than Java or Perl or too much. I guess it's about as hard as SQL. So I could do this fast. BTW, as for me, I have a computer engineering degree from CMU and I've been programming and doing admin for 20 years.
