I have extensive experience with CRM. I have been through two major corporate CRM implementations. I was the lead for selecting, designing, implementing, customizing and administrating the CRM systems for a worldwide corporation. Please see my resume info via my profile on this site. I am comfortable with gathering requirements and designing a solution as well as designing integrations. If you are wanting to leverage CRM to handle the management of Leads, Contacts, Opportunities and Activities then a CRM solution is definitely the way to go. Depending on your needs and integration requirements we could also take a look at whether you use Quotes and Orders in CRM or where that handshake between the CRM (sales) system and the Accounting (billing) system takes place. There are many things to consider such as which system does the order/invoicing, do you want to integrate data such as price lists, tax, shipping (sometimes very complex and expensive) from accounting into CRM or let CRM just hand off once a sale is ready and let your accounting system do the order and invoicing to keep the replication of data and integration design and implementation affordable. Also we may need to talk about whether you are wanting to keep the old accounting system or if you would be willing to look at an ERP solution where the CRM and Accounting modules are in one vendor with out of the box integration.
