Law Firm is in current dispute with County Government (USA) over assigned client billing issues due to contract interpretation. I believe the contract issue has now (mostly) been resolved in arbitration. Now, I need a real AGGRESSIVE, NON-RELENTING, BULLDOG to coordinate and communicate with County's Accountant / department to determine how they arrived at their bizarre numbers, what (if anything) they are missing, what they used for cutoff dates, or anything else that would resolve current issues and discrepancies, as client billing is time based, on-going and dynamic. Correction of any accounting issues in Clio on-line law firm management software (time entry based billing) would be required. Firm moved this year from Amicus Attorney/Accounting, and therefore reconciliation between the two products older time entries would probably be necessary.
As a number of the disputed clients are active, this is a priority project as billing has stalled on approximately 30+ clients. I would expect this project to take about 160 hours over the next month or so (maybe less). Communication at first with Firm and the County's Accounting department would have to be fairly extensive due to complexity of contracts interpretation and other minor issues.
Good work will lead to a number of future accounting projects from firm, including, additional client reconciliations, conservatorship/guardianship annual accounting work, divorce accounting work, bankruptcy work, and probably the turnover of Firm's back office billing. Also, other local attorney's are having the same issues with county - recommendations will be made.
Attention to DETAIL IS VERY IMPORTANT in this instance and time is of the essence. If you do not have the time or energy to put into this project, then don't bid.

I have analyzed approximately $475 million in annual revenue contracts associated with 50 municipalities: resulting in $7 million dollars of additional profit and $800,000 in corrective adjustments.
Based on your 30 day time estimate of 160 hours for this project and this would make the hourly bid rate be less than $10/hr I would have to no-bid the project as a whole at that rate.
However, I have reviewed the Indigent Defense Attorney Services contract and believe I can hit the ground running an finish the reconciliation in less time, which would also improve the project rate allowing this to be a more lucrative deal for both the municipal consultant and the client whom needs the job done in an politically savvy and expeditious manor.

Since you expect 160 hours for this project - and at that amount of hours my bid would be less than $10/hr I cannot accept the project. However, I am willing to put 60 hours in for my current bid and bill every hour over at $17. This is obviously a good deal for a CPA that can get the job done. I work with other attorneys as both their general accountant as well as forensic accountant (for litigation support) so I believe my experience and attention to detail will work really well for you in this project.
