Besides writing about the language and imagery I'd write about the rhythm, line breaks, stanzas, sound and meaning. Other things to think about would be the poet's subject, perspective and life and times. Also about whether the poet invites the reader into the work to share the experience. Hello, Not sure if you've made it to deadline. Hope you still have more time to finish your paper in any event. Time seems to be a factor for you. So, I won't keep you long. Please quickly read through my profile. Here, I will briefly tell you a little about myself and why I can help you. Poetry theory is a smart choice, but as you may have experienced, it is not always easy to master. And you have to love the subject too. I am accustomed to writing essays far longer than your word length, so I'll have no difficulties here. Viewing my updated profile, you will have noticed that I have a BA in Languages and Literature. My majors were Theory of Literature and English. I received 6 distinctions and A Plus on at least 20 of the papers I wrote. Now, this is important for you, one of the subjects I excelled in was none other than Advanced Theory in Poetry, a distinction. I received over 80% for my papers and finished with 78 for the exam. At that stage I wrote on Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes and two South African poets, Ingrid Jonker and Antje Krog. I also critqued the subjectivity of published criticism on Krog's work.
