Ok - this is a simple project for an experienced developer. My real purpose is to find a solid ASP/SQL developer who can work with me on various projects. However, this is a small headache that I would like to have solved by tomorrow morning if possible.
I am using the process that is outlined in the following URL:
I am 99% committed to this process - however, if you believe there is a more efficient way of displaying this type of data, I am open to suggestion. Based on my research, I think this is the best method available.
Anyway, (based on the process above) once the recordset data has been placed into the 2-D array, I want to be able to do the following:
(1) Function to generate the navigational path to a specific CategoryID... by passing the CategoryID for Insurance, it would output this: HR Info > Benefits > Insurance. I'd like to be able to toggle whether or not the categories are selectable (i.e. use hrefs).
(2) Code to output a list of child categories with the full path to each. This is probably a combination of the previous function and the original function in the article - just need to display them in order. I would specify the CategoryID = if set to 0, it would start at the root. FYI, I could use this method to populate a list menu.
(3) Code to display the (immediate) child categories of a specific CategoryID.
(4) Function to count all children below a specific CategoryID.
If there is any confusion on this, please let me know - I would prefer a US-based developer. Again, this is more of a test to find the right person. I could accomplish the above myself within a few hours, it would probably take an experienced developer 30-60 minutes.
I will pay by PayPal or GetAFreelancer upon delivery (and successful testing) of the ASP code provided.
