Selecting the winner was tough. There was severe competition between Namita and ivictorie. Basing on the general perception, Namita's translation stood out as the winner. That doesn't make ivictorie's entry any less valuable. As per the contest rules, only one has to be selected, so Namita stands out. Thanks to everybody for participating in the contest. Looking ahead to work with you all in great camaraderie... Keep an eye on the release of my book 'An Incorruptible Nation' in May 2015. Thanks again.

Thanks for your very complimentary words. Believe me, I'd like to follow your advice about a walk in the park or on the beach, but the prize money is like peanut shells so I'd rather not. In any case, even my first attempt was more for the challenge because I could spot it at a glance that this poem has been derived (to use a polite word) from Sahir Ludhianvi's Woh subha kabhi toh aayegi. Sahir is my favourite poet and while I may not have guts to try to translate HIS work, I can surely try to do so with a pale imitation.
