Resumen del concurso

This isn't something you've designed before, but no one else has either!

We build beautiful internet-connected art that uses moving sculptures to intuitively convey real-time information. And we're looking for concepts for new movements.

Check out https://www.empyral.com/ for a short video that'll help clarify what we do. Specifically, we're looking for concepts for a 1ft by 1ft wall-mountable moving sculpture with one "widget" on it (unlike the video above, which has many).

We care MOST about the IDEA rather than the final image submitted. Your entries can be anything from sketches with labels explaining motion to full 3D renderings. Whatever you prefer.

For this widget, focus on representations of:
Commute time, travel time, traffic speed, train delays, etc.

How it should look:
-Use aspects of iconography, but don't feel restricted - be creative!
Use these sites for some inspiration: https://thenounproject.com/ , https://icons8.com/
-It should be intuitive to interpret and should look and _feel_ like the information being conveyed.
-Do not use lights, screens, or sounds. Try not to use letters or numbers unless necessary.
-Sleek, Modern, Minimalist, Elegant. Woods and metals are preferred.
-Imagine it would be on display at the "Starbucks Reserve Roastery in New York".
(it won't be, but that's the style and feel we're going for)

How it should move:
-Move part(s) of the sculpture to convey the information
-Have parts of whatever is considered the "icon" move. For example, in the umbrella posted, the umbrella opens to display the presence of rain. We could have done this with an arrow behind the umbrella, but instead integrated the indicator into the parts of the umbrella itself. We are trying to not use arrows or needles, but instead, substitute these indicators with moving parts of the shape.
-Moderate-to-low complexity
-Try to use rigid shapes, not flexible or bendy parts
-Think about the moving parts using things like pivots, hinges, sliders, twists, screws, spins, joints, etc. to move
-Don't worry too much about the mechanics, that's our job! Just focus on the general concept. :)

Some inspiration:
-Most importantly, don't forget to watch the video at https://www.empyral.com/,

-We look forward to seeing your interesting, creative, and mesmerizing designs!

Please use the images we've provided as _guidelines_ for what we want. Do not recreate them - Come up with new movements that convey different information. We are not looking for an umbrella that opens up. We are looking for new shapes/icons that move in new ways to convey new information.
