The Comtel Group is seeking to create a word or acronym that represents a new category of business model/service. This new term will hopefully ultimately become the company name as well. This will eventually lead to a complete rebranding of the company. Currently we are willing to pay $250 for someone who can come up with a just word or name that we can use in our marketing. If that person also has skills in other areas they will be the first in line to help us with the other projects.

If you wish to provide a submission please read the following:

What we want to do is similar to what; Kleenex, FedEx, Rollerblade, Q-Tip, Rolaids, Swiffer, and few others have accomplished: Their name became the name, that their target audience used to describe the product category. As a company we want to provide the term and define the term.

Context
At Comtel we are a professional and managed service firm that helps mid-market companies evaluate/design, procure, implement, and support, “As A Service” technology like; internet, cloud computing, hosted/VOIP phone systems, productivity apps like O365/G-Suite, mobility, security, and more. For those who know the industry we are also a broker/agent of all the major technology service providers. For those who are not familiar with the industry, if you were the I.T. leader for a mid-sized organization with a few hundred to a few thousand people and you want to replace your internet and voice service providers, or premise based servers for cloud computing, we can help. We first discover the clients objectives and help them evaluate/shop (and manage) the various providers like, AT&T, Cox, Verizon, etc. for the telecom, and AWS, Azzure, etc. for the cloud computing. We call these providers the 800lb gorillas.

(We are not a traditional I.T. Managed Service Provider who deals with on premise equipment).

Typicially two types of sales reps sell the services mentioned above, direct reps, and brokers/agents, Comtel is a third option and most unique.

I would like a one, two or three word name for a professional or company that:
• Helps clients procure their technology solutions from major service providers
• Takes the same commission funding that other reps would get, and the client can exchange that commission for professional services that deliver a best practice approach and ensure the business outcomes they want, or if they don’t professional services on the particular purchase they can apply it toward another project of a different type or the company just splits the commission with the customer and cuts them a check.
• Low risk and effort for the customer
• Budget neutral or better
Somehow we want the word or words to encapsulate at least the first two points and preferably the third and fourth as well.

Another way to consider the ideas that have to go into the name are:
1. Agent, Broker, Rep, Procurement, sourcing
2. Exchange commission for pro services (or subsidized professional services, subsidized staff augmentation) or rebate buying
3. Best practice service provider management

These examples suck because they don’t make a nice sounding word (like; “VAR” Value Added Reseller, other than the last) but provide the feel:
1. CESA (Commission endowed staff augmentation) “Seesah”
2. PAFP (Procurement Agent funded pro-services) “Pap” f is silent
3. PSSA (Provider Subsidized Staff Augmentation)
4. PXM (Procurement Exchange Manager) this would pronounce like, “Paxum”

Remember that the name doesn’t necessarily need to be a real word or commonly known word. After all, we don’t think anyone was regularly using the terms Uber or Kleenex before they existed.
