We are a construction company and currently have an excel based quoting system. We have a master spreadsheet which contains rates for a wide range of products/services that we offer. To create a quote, we input the quantities into the ‘Qty / m²’ column and the formulas work out the costs. We can also adjust the margin easily. This system works very well for costing projects but requires a lot of word processing/adjustment to remove any items that are not necessary to the specific project (i.e. do not have a quantity next to them) take the relevant data out and put it into a PowerPoint presentation.

We are looking to simplify this system so that we can create quotes much more easily and quicker.
In short, we are looking for a system whereby we can input the specific quantities for a project and any items that do not have a quantity next to them, automatically are removed from the process. The output required is a spreadsheet or easily editable document that can then be put into a PowerPoint.

Attached:
• Master costing spreadsheet (Project Costing Sheet - June 2020.xltx)
• A copy of the master spreadsheet with quantities inputted for a specific project (PCS Tech Hub 2 05.12.19.xlsx)
• A PDF copy of the quotation taken from the master spreadsheet and adjusted - how we do it currently which is time consuming and inefficient (7658 Hermes Parcelnet Ltd (Tech Hub 2.0).pdf)
• A spreadsheet example of another form of quotation which is much simpler. We would be happy if our output looked like this (Oak North Tender.xls) Please note that we would not want the individual rates showing

For clarity, the output does not have to be an excel spreadsheet. But the quotes must be edited easily and we must be able to add this into a PowerPoint presentation (landscape)

Note: items 1.2 and 1.4 are calculated as a % of the project total. Also, the furniture shown is a separate task. It is the construction elements that needed to be focused on. However, if the same system can be used for furniture, that would be a bonus.

congrats for the winner....But in my system you don't need to do any reapply filters...It will automatically filter based on quantity

  many thanks , but it will have all the data and you will redefine the print area in each sheet for each time you make new quotation to avoid printing zero qty rows, I think that reapply the filter is much easier.
